Congratulations! 2011 Anderson's
Canoe Outfitters Fishing Contest Winners
| Leslie Buck's 44" Northern Pike |
|
Hi Mark,
Boy, the Quetico is a magical place. As you know, my brother Bob and his daughter Leslie joined us this year on our annual Quetico trip. As luck would have it, Leslie caught the biggest fish. A 44" northern pike! Good grief, it is the biggest pike I have ever seen that wasn't already on a wall or above a fireplace. We had to land it on shore as it was a travel day and our canoes were full of packs. Luckily the shoreline was relatively shallow, so I was able to wade out and assist. We worked quickly and were able to successfully release that beautiful fish. What a thrill.
All my best,
Todd Buck

| Todd Buck's 29 1/2" Walleye |
|
Hi Mark,
This walleye is 29.5" and the biggest I have caught so far. I am shooting for a 30, so we carefully measured it. Going to have to keep searching, and quite honestly that is the fun part. The walleye was also released, so next year maybe it will be the one I'm looking for. Our entire drive home was talk of where and how we are going to do it next year. Already jazzed to get back in the Quetico woods.
Thanks for considering these fish for the big fish contest. With a whole season still ahead, there is plenty of time for someone to beat these. We will see what happens.
All my best,
Todd Buck

| Eric Brenton's 31" Lake Trout |
|
Here is a photo of Eric's lake trout that was 31 inches he caught in La Croix. We guess it at over 13 pounds. Eric also caught a 28 inch Walleye on the same trip.
Thank you.
