Crossing the border into Canada and back into the United States is easy and trouble free if you know what is expected and you are prepared.
Included with our shuttle service are stops at Canadian Customs upon your entry to Canada. We will also stop at United States Customs upon your return.
BWCAW Permit Information
All visitors to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness are required to pay user fees because the BWCAW is a federally managed wilderness area. User fees generated through this program come directly back into the BWCA to maintain the pristine beauty of the wilderness and the visitor infrastructure within it, including the wilderness management program, staffing, campsite and portage maintenance, permit issuance, and wilderness education programs.
Fees for the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness – BWCAW Permits:

BWCAW Rules & Regulations
The U.S. Forest Service manages the BWCAW.
- A quota has been established to limit the number of parties accessing each wilderness entry point on a daily basis.
- Party size is limited to nine (9) people per campsite.
- Parties are required to camp at a designated site in the BWCAW.
- Food items must be packaged in plastic or biodegradable containers.
- A permit is required to enter a specific point on a designated day.
- Permits are issued on a first-come-first-serve basis and are very competitive. It is imperative to make an early permit reservation; Up to 6 months in advance of your trip to ensure that the trip meets your expectations and fits your schedule.

Quetico Permit Information
Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources manages the Quetico.
- A quota has been established to limit the number of parties accessing each wilderness entry point on a daily basis.
- Party size is limited to nine (9) people per campsite.
- Parties are required to camp at a designated site in the BWCAW, but can camp anywhere in the Quetico.
- Food items must be packaged in plastic or biodegradable containers.
- A permit is required to enter a specific point on a designated day.
- Permits are issued on a first-come-first-serve basis and are very competitive. It is imperative to make an early permit reservation; Up to 6 months in advance of your trip to ensure that the trip meets your expectations and fits your schedule.
Permit fees for the Quetico Provincial Park:
- Adult $17.00 per night
- Youth (17 and younger) $8.00 per night
